WORKS ON THE SİİRT-PERVARİ ROAD ARE PROGRESSING RAPIDLY
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu inspected the 81.5-kilometer Siirt-Pervari Road where construction works are going on, and he received information about the latest status of the project.
In his statement following the inspections, Minister Uraloğlu stated that the 17-kilometer section at the Alkumru Dam had been completed, adding that they aim to open the 32-kilometer section extending from the dam toward Siirt to traffic this year and the entire road by the fourth quarter of 2027.
Uraloğlu stated that the completion of the project would bring significant benefits, noting that the route would be shortened by 6.5 kilometers and travel time would be reduced by 47 minutes. He added that the project would result in annual savings of 1.84 million liters of fuel, a reduction of 4.6 million kilograms in carbon emissions, and total annual savings of TL 578 million.
Minister Uraloğlu said, “With these benefits we will make transportation between Siirt and Pervari safer, more comfortable and more economical."
PROJECT REACHES 60 PERCENT PHYSICAL PROGRESS
The 81.5-kilometer Siirt-Pervari Road consists of a 17.4-kilometer section completed in previous years as part of the Alkumru Dam Relocation Road and a 64.1-kilometer section currently under construction.
The 17.4-kilometer section was completed in previous years as a single-lane road with a 10-meter platform width and a surface treatment. Under the ongoing works, BSK repair is being carried out on 1.3 kilometers of the 31.5-kilometer Section 1, while BSK pavement is being constructed on the remaining 30.2 kilometers as a single-lane road. On the 32.6-kilometer Section 2, BSK pavement will be constructed as a single-lane road. Accordingly, the project aims to complete the entire 64.1-kilometer section with BSK pavement and upgrade the 17.4-kilometer section, previously completed as a single-lane road with a surface treatment, to BSK standard.
There are two viaducts with a total length of 675 meters and three bridges with a total length of 100 meters along the project route.
As of the end of 2025, earthwork operations and construction of engineering structures had been carried out along a 16-kilometer section of the road at various locations. The elevations of Viaduct-1 and Viaduct-2 have been completed at the bent cap level.
In 2026, the project reached 60 percent physical progress. The 550-meter-long Viaduct-1 and the 800-meter-long Viaduct-2 reached the deck concrete level, while an 11.9-kilometer section of the road was completed at the BSK binder course level as a single-lane road at various locations. Of the 32.6-kilometer Section 2, 10 kilometers were brought to the grading level. Earthwork operations and construction of engineering structures are ongoing in the other sections of the project.
The project will provide safer and more comfortable traffic flow while contributing not only to transportation between Siirt and Pervari but also to the region's industrial and commercial activities. Access to the Siirt Organized Industrial Zone will be facilitated, while the transportation of agricultural products produced in the region, particularly Siirt pistachios, to domestic and international markets will also be made easier.
