KGM COMMITTEE CONTINUES ITS ENGAGEMENTS IN JAPAN
Director General of Highways Ahmet Gülşen held a series of meetings and visits on the second day of his engagements in Japan, following the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference (GICC) held in South Korea.
As part of the program, a meeting was held with the Japanese committee, headed by Masamichi Hashimoto, Vice Minister in charge of International Projects at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). During the meeting, information was exchanged on potential future cooperation between Türkiye and Japan.
During visits to IHI, one of Japan's leading construction companies, and Itochu, one of the country's major contracting firms, briefings were received on major infrastructure projects undertaken by the companies and advanced engineering practices. Particular emphasis was placed on new technologies used in road infrastructure, construction techniques, and project experience.
At the final stop of its visit program in Japan, the Turkish committee met with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), one of Japan's major credit institutions. During the meeting, international financing opportunities and the provision of external loans for infrastructure projects planned to be implemented in Türkiye were discussed.
During the meetings and visits held as part of the KGM committee's program in Japan, opportunities for future cooperation in the fields of transport and infrastructure were evaluated, while information and views were exchanged on planned investments in Türkiye.
