A PRE-SCHOOL AT THE HIGHWAYS COMPOUND IN VAN
In cooperation between the General Directorate of Highways and the Van Provincial Directorate of National Education, a pre-school classroom was opened at the Highways 11th Regional Directorate compound in Van to facilitate children's access to education. The pre-school classroom began providing education to 26 students at the outset on September 14, 2026, marking the start of the 2026–2027 academic year.
Following the preparations initiated under a protocol signed between the two institutions to provide education for pre-school-aged children residing at the Regional Directorate compound who face difficulties accessing education, the project was completed and put into operation.
The newly opened pre-school classroom will operate under Kıyıcak Primary School Kindergarten, located in Kıyıcak Neighborhood of Edremit District, while pre-school education activities will be carried out by the respective pre-school. Initially, two teachers were assigned to provide instruction in the classroom at the compound.
The Van Regional Directorate, which has provided all necessary support for the opening of the pre-school at the compound, will meet the school's needs, including water, electricity, internet, natural gas, and heating. While the educational materials to be used in the pre-school classroom were provided from the Regional Directorate's inventory, any additional materials needed were supplied by the Van Provincial Directorate of National Education.
The pre-school classroom, which was opened to facilitate access to pre-school education for children living at the Regional Directorate compound and to help them begin their educational lives at an earlier age, will continue its educational activities in line with the academic calendar determined annually by the Ministry of National Education in the coming years.
