KGM COMMITTEE CONDUCTED TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS IN JAPANESE
Director General of Highways Ahmet Gülşen went to Japanese after the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference which was held in South Korea, and conducted technical inspections in the fields of transportation and infrastructure.
As part of the program attended by the technical committees of both institutions and Director General of Infrastructure Investments Yalçın Eyigün, the Skygate Bridge in Osaka was visited.
During the inspections, the applications implemented to strenghthen the bridge against earthquakes were examined on site, while technical information on the ongoing works was obtained from the authorities. Information was exchanged on applications, techniques, and strengthening works aimed at enhancing the resilience of existing transportation infrastructure against earthquake risks.
Through the technical inspections conducted as part of the General Directorate of Highways committee's engagements in Japan, the aim is to assess on site practices in different countries aimed at enhancing the safety, resilience, and sustainability of transportation infrastructure and to contribute the experience gained to ongoing works in Türkiye.
The institution's international cooperation and technical engagements continue as part of efforts to make road infrastructure safer, more resilient and more sustainable in response to changing needs and disaster risks.
