KGM PARTICIPATED IN THE GLOBAL INFRASTRUCTURE COOPERATION CONFERENCE (GICC) 2026

Direcor General of Highways Ahmet Gülşen and a KGM committee attended the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference 2026, (GICC) which was held in South Korea.
Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference, hosted by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea (MOLIT), is being held from 15 to 17 April, 2026.
During the conference, which was attended by a KGM committee comprising Director General of Highways Ahmet Gülşen and relevant KGM officials, various engagements were held on road infrastructure, while opportunities for international cooperation and the latest developments in the sector were discussed. Deputy Director General Gökhan Macit also delivered a presentation on several major global projects in Türkiye.
The Global Infrastructure Cooperation Platform
GICC 2026 serves as an important international platform that brings together international public institutions, multilateral development banks, and engineering and construction companies to discuss new infrastructure projects, investment opportunities, and tender conditions.
During the meetings held as part of the conference, discussions focused on developments in the infrastructure sector, particularly road projects, as well as experience sharing and opportunities for cooperation.
AI and Digital Transformation the Future of Infrastructure
Technological transformation in the infrastructure and construction sectors also features prominently on the agenda of GICC 2026 this year. AI-driven transformations in the global construction market, construction site safety management, and “Digital Twin" applications are among the key topics discussed during the conference sessions.
The opportunities offered by these technologies to enhance efficiency, strengthen safety, and improve decision-making processes throughout the planning, design, construction, and operation phases of projects are being evaluated.
With the Attendance of the General Directorate of Highways in GICC 2026, important engagements are being held to share Türkiye's knowledge and experience in road infrastructure on international platforms and closely follow new technological developments at the global level.
