THE DIRECTOR GENERAL GÜLŞEN INSPECTED THE ONGOING ROAD PROJECTS
The Director General of Highway Ahmet Gülşen inspected the ongoing highway projects in Ankara and Çankırı. Gülşen who reviewed the ongoing works during his site visits, received a briefing from officials on the latest progress of the projects.
The first visit was to the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Delice Motorway. The motorway, designed with a total lenght of 120 kilometers consist of 101 kilometers main section, 19 kilometers of connecting roads. Along the route, 7 interchanges, 4 tunnels, 8 viaducts, 22 interchange bridges, 17 overpasses, and 63 underpasses are being constructed, along with maintenance and operation centres, motorway service areas, toll plazas, and weight control stations.
Upon completion, the motorway will provide a direct connection from Kırıkkale, the eastern gateway of Ankara, to Türkiye's eastern, northern, and southern transportation corridors. It is expected to significantly reduce traffic on the existing Ankara–Kırıkkale State Road and cut the travel time from approximately 80 minutes to 43 minutes.
Ahmet Gülşen later inspected the ongoing landslide stabilization works on the (Ankara–Elmadağ) Junction–Kalecik Road. Briefing about the ongoing operation, Gülşen reviewed the continued activities aimed at improving road safety.
Also visiting Kastamonu-Çankırı (Kırık Dam Variant) road worksite as part of Çankırı schedule Ahmet Gülşen inspected the ongoing works on the 20,4 kilometer project. As part of the project, twin-tube tunnels with a total length of 10,660 meters, twin viaducts, as well as grade-separated and at-grade intersections are being constructed. While a significant portion of the excavation and support works at the Kırık Tunnel has been completed, final concrete lining works, together with earthworks and structure works along various sections of the route, are ongoing.
General Director Gülşen inspected the Çankırı Ring Road. Of the 16.5-kilometer project, the first 6.5-kilometer section was completed in previous years, while road construction works are continuing on the second 6-kilometer section. The remaining 4-kilometer third section is planned to be put out to tender.
