He noted that from the very first moments, 650,000 personnel were deployed to the field, demonstrating one of the strongest examples of government–nation solidarity.

Transportation investments continue in Osmaniye and the Region

Speaking at the ceremony Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that personnel had been in the area since the first hours of the earthquake and mentioned that starting with Osmaniye, they have implemented numerous essential services throughout the earthquake-affected region.

Uraloğlu noted 'For citizens who wanted to leave the area after earthquake we provided opportunities to travel to other parts of the country by road, by air and via the Mersin-İskenderun sea route.' He referred that the damaged transportation infrastructure has been largely restored.

Uraloğlu stated that a Highways Center of District has been established in Osmaniye and a new asphalt plant has been set up, adding that the roads will be made safer and more comfortable.

He also stated that the Sakızgediği Junction, located at the western entrance of Osmaniye and providing access to the earthquake housing units, has been recently completed. He noted that the road, constructed as a 2x2 divided road, has been opened for public use, and emphasized that the needs of Osmaniye are well known and that efforts to address them will continue.

Key transportation projects in Osmaniye and the surrounding region have been inaugurated

Within the scope of connecting and zoning roads for the permanent earthquake housing units in the Akyar area of Osmaniye's central district, 3.3 kilometers of divided road, 12.6 kilometers of single-lane road, and one double bridge measuring 122 meters were constructed. Additionally, 3,768 meters of drinking water pipeline, 5,800 meters of stormwater pipeline, and 5,232 meters of sewerage pipeline were installed, along with energy supply and lighting infrastructure works.

With this project, the infrastructure and zoning roads of the permanent earthquake housing areas constructed in Osmaniye have been established, enabling safe and comfortable access from the reserve areas to the existing main transportation axes. As well as connecting and zoning roads, electricity, sewerage, stormwater drainage, drinking water pipelines and reserve areas were also completed.

Superstructure Renovated on Strategic Roads

The pavement of the Toprakkale–Osmaniye Ring Road section, operating as a divided road with bituminous hot-mix pavement, has been rehabilitated. Additionally, the construction of the DDY-1 and DDY-2 bridges, measuring 74 meters and 36 meters respectively, has been completed along the 12.7-kilometer section.

Due to its strategic role within the national road network connecting east to west and serving as an international route linking Europe with Türkiye's eastern neighbors the pavement of the Toprakkale–Osmaniye State Highway has been renewed, enhancing driving comfort as well as the safety of life and property, and increasing the road's transport capacity.

Erdoğan and Uraloğlu emphasized that investments aimed at strengthening Osmaniye's transportation infrastructure will continue in the coming period.
