1915 Çanakkale Bridge

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge provides a crossing over the Çanakkale Strait between Gelibolu and Lapseki as part of the 101-kilometer-long Malkara-Çanakkale Motorway.

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge holds the title of the World's Longest Suspension Bridge with a middle span of 2023 meters, symbolizing the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. It has side spans of 770 meters each, making the total length of the bridge 3,563 meters. When including the 365 and 680-meter approach viaducts, the total crossing length is 4,608 meters. The bridge has 2x3 lanes for traffic and features steel towers that reach a height of 318 meters. With the addition of the Corporal Seyit Shell Figures, the height becomes 334 meters.

The bridge plays a significant role in the improvement of national highways throughout Türkiye, in line with the Vision 2023 Master Plan, which is considered a symbol of Türkiye's national development efforts.

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge forms the most crucial crossing point of the Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Savaştepe Motorway, which will complete the Marmara Motorway Ring. With the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge providing uninterrupted road access across the Çanakkale Strait, the crossing time has been reduced to 6 minutes. This marks the first time in history that a continuous motorway connection has been established across the Çanakkale Strait.
