Project Detail

Kürtün Junction

Kürtün Interchange is located where the Trabzon-Gümüşhane Road intersects with the Tirebolu-Torul Road in Kürtün, Turkey. The main road includes a 2x290 m open-close tunnel. The connection of the Tirebolu-Torul route to Gümüşhane and Trabzon is facilitated through the Kürtün Interchange constructed above the open-close tunnel.

The transportation infrastructure in the region, which is surrounded by deep valleys and high mountains and serves as an important passage for transportation between the inland areas of the Eastern Black Sea, has been strengthened to provide uninterrupted, safe, and comfortable traffic flow.

The upgrading of road standards has contributed to the acceleration of development in the region and an increase in economic activity.

By safely and cost-effectively traversing the active landslide area, the transportation standards for the route connecting the Eastern Black Sea to the east and other regions have been improved.

As part of the project, the double-tubed Kürtün Tunnel, with a length of 1,904 meters, is located on the Tirebolu-Torul Road. This tunnel provides a more comfortable passage through the section of the road with sharp curves and steep slopes.
