Project Detail

Menemen-Aliağa-Çandarlı Motorway

The Menemen-Aliağa-Çandarlı Motorway, constructed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, consists of a total length of 96 kilometers, including 56 kilometers of motorway and 40 kilometers of connecting roads. It was fully opened to traffic on February 22, 2020.

This 2x3-lane motorway, an extension of the Izmir-Aydin, Izmir-Urla-Çeşme, and Izmir Ring Road, runs parallel to the Izmir-Çanakkale State Highway, passing west of the Aliağa Organized Industrial Zone. It integrates the road network with Çandarlı Port, which is planned to become one of our country's largest ports..

As part of the motorway project, the construction of a steel archaeological bridge has set a unique example in the world, as it contributes to the preservation of the road leading to the Neonteikhos Ancient City and the surrounding historical artifacts.

The Menemen-Aliağa-Çandarlı Motorway provides high-standard road connections to Izmir, Aliağa, and Çandarlı Port, relieving the heavy vehicle traffic currently using city roads for north-south transportation and alleviating the urban traffic within Izmir, Menemen, and Aliağa.
