AHMET ARSLAN

      


                         Ahmet ARSLAN was born in June 2, 1962 in Kağızman District of Kars, Turkey.

                         He graduated from the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Faculty of Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences of İstanbul Technical University.

                         Mr. ARSLAN also attended at the National Security Academy in the 56th education term.

                         He served for the private sector for 7 years and took various offices in Pendik Shipyard.

                        Mr. ARSLAN worked as Head of Department and Deputy General Manager of the Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs and then appointed as the General Director of Railways, Ports and Airports Construction of the Ministry of Transport.

                   He was a member of the Board of Directors of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), TT-NET and Turkish Lloyd Foundation and a member of the Board of Supervisors of TÜRKSAT and a member of the Maritime Assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).

                         He was awarded "Turkish World Engineering Award”, “Honorary Professorship” title and "2010 Annual Bureaucrats Who Turn Negatives into Positives Award”.

                         Mr. ARSLAN elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Kars Province from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in 12 June 2011 general elections.

                         He was re-elected as an MP for Kars Province from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in 1 November 2015 general elections.

                         He served as a member of Planning and Budget Commission in the 24th term.

                         He was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Public Works, Development, Transportation and Tourism in the 26th term.

                         He acted as the Chairman of Turkish-Czech Republic Interparliamentary Friendship Group in the 24th and 26th terms.

                         Mr. ARSLAN is married with 1 child.

                         He speaks English.
